Squash Forehand Short Rail Drill - Move Away From Side Wall When Needed

Move Away and Use an Open Stance When Needed

Steve Hufford
If your shot comes back pretty far away from the side wall, move your feet quickly so that you still have room to swing and hit a normal forehand. It is okay to hit with an 'open stance', as in this picture. An 'open stance' means that your front foot is further from the side wall than is your back foot. Practice both stances so that you can comfortably hit forehands from either foot position.
