Good preparation includes turning sideways so that your torso faces the side wall. Your squash racquet should be back and your racquet head should be up (higher than the grip). Advance preparation like this will help you hit a good squash volley. Many players like to use their non-hitting arm for balance, as in this picture of good squash preparation.
