Open Stance - Sometimes an Open Stance Forehand Is Okay

Plenty of Sidespin Coming With This Open Stance Forehand

Steve Hufford
As the pace picks up, you may not have time to get into perfect foot position. This means you might hit some forehands with an "open stance" - with your right foot closer to the side wall than is your left foot. That will still work fine, as long as you watch the ball very carefully. And you can still hit with sidespin from this open stance position, so practice that as well. Enjoy this drill, and perfect your roll corners and intermediate ball control.
